The UK government is taking the initiative for the deployment of the 5G trials and testbeds in both urban and rural areas. The government allocated 25 million euros for 5G networks. Further, three universities started working together to develop a 5G network with the help of 16 million euros received from the government. In March 2018, Deutsche Telecom laid the foundation of 5G in Germany by deploying six cells with 5G antennas in Berlin.

As per the French government and ARCEP, the target of the 5G roadmaps includes allocating new frequencies, improving the 5G infrastructure, and increasing the fiber network. Italy’s large telecom market has benefitted from progressive government programs aimed at developing the fiber broadband sector. Italy’s vibrant mobile market has one of the highest penetration rates in Europe. Italy’s two major telecom companies, Vodafone Italy and Telecom Italia bought spectrum for deployment of 5G services.
